GIS
Knowing where the assets are and how they are connected together are key components of a complete asset management solution for any distribution utility. Many utilities have made significant investments in the geospatial information. With Opvantek's GIS interface, these rich geospatial data sources can be integrated into both the Optimain & OpCircuit product suites.

Each of the applications is designed to interact with commercial GIS platforms via COM/OLE Automation.

The GIS Interface will enable you to:
Load asset data and relationships from the GIS
Link asset records to their geospatial location
Update attributes in one system and automatically synchronize in the other
Navigate seamlessly between Opvantek's applications and the GIS map
Create and analyze data from Optimain DS or OpCircuit using standard GIS tools

Use the GIS interface to integrate with GE Energy's Smallworld GIS. Opvantek's GIS interface for ESRI and MapInfo will soon be completed, and support for other GIS platforms is available upon request..

WMS

. has developed a consistent service-oriented architecture to automate the flow of critical business information from enterprise applications such as work management systems. The WMS interface supports two-way interaction with third-party (or homegrown) work management systems, via well-defined SOAP (XML) messages. This interface is often crucial for overall business processes because:

Optimain & OpCircuit applications represent the point of initiation for many different types of work projects (programmed maintenance, ad hoc work, capital replacement projects, etc.).
The WMS often captures asset fault information, such as leaks and inspection reports, while Opvantek's applications need access to this information for failure prediction, decision support and compliance management.
